Many of us might find a little extra help useful during the winter. The following are open to all:
Beaford
Community Food Share: All are welcome to drop off non-perishable food and toiletries in the back of church between 9.00am and 5.00pm daily. All are welcome to take what they need.
Coffee mornings at the village hall on the last Saturday of the month from 10.30am - 12.00am. No charge.
A warm space is available in the Village Hall on Tuesdays and Thursdays form 10am to 12.00pm. Free refreshments.
High Bickington
Community Food Bank: All are welcome to drop off non-perishable food and toiletries in the back of church between 9.00am and 7.30pm. All are welcome to take what they need.
Community lunches are held every Thursday at 12.30pm in the Community Centre. These lunches are free or donation optional. Takeaway lunches are also available from the Centre or from the freezer next to the Community pantry in the Church. Again these are free or donation optional.
Coffee mornings are held at the Community Centre on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 10.00am - 11.30am. Small donation optional.
A warm space is available in the library area of the Community Centre every weekday from 10am to 2pm.
The Community minibus will do weekly trips to Lidl/Sainsburys in Barnstaple if booked in advance. Contact Sally at the Community Centre on 01769 561387.
Horwood
Chatterbox Cafe at the church on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 2.00pm - 4.00pm. Small donation optional.
Starting on 11th January Lunch Bunch will meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 12.30pm in Lovacott Village Hall. Charge is £5 per head.
Newton Tracey
Coffee mornings at the Hunters' Inn on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 10.00.11.30. Free of charge.
Roborough
Community soup lunch at the village hall on 18 January, 15 February and 15 March at 12.30pm. Small donation optional.
Biscuit Club at the village hall on the last Thursday of the month from 10.30am - 12.00pm. Small donation optional.
St Giles
Souper Fridays: A warm welcome, in a warm space with hot soup & a bread Roll, tea or coffee. Free of charge. Every Friday from 12.00noon to 2.00pm in the chapel of St Giles Church.
Coffee,Cake & Company on the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 10.30am - 12.00pm. Free of charge.
